Hi everyone, I’m Poppy! I was just a tiny kitten when PAWS rescued me in 2020. At only 10weeks old, I suffered unimaginable injuries at the hands of humans before being dumped on a garbage heap. I couldn’t walk at all, and had little to no use in all four of my legs. I had a broken femur, broken hip, and pieces of my tail were found chopped off at the site.
Hi everyone, I’m Poppy! I was just a tiny kitten when PAWS rescued me in 2020. At only 10weeks old, I suffered unimaginable injuries at the hands of humans before being dumped on a garbage heap. I couldn’t walk at all, and had little to no use in all four of my legs. I had a broken femur, broken hip, and pieces of my tail were found chopped off at the site.
Thanks to love, patience, and daily therapy, I have grown bigger and stronger. I gained mobility in my legs and was soon able to lift my chest up off of the floor.
Alas my injuries left me permanently disabled. While I can’t walk like other cats, I can move around quite well on my own and hop around like a little bunny. I am on long-term treatment and have to take a total of 4 medications a day to stay healthy. I’m also prone to urinary problems, which have led to me being rushed to the clinic several times.
My special needs will likely prevent me from ever getting adopted, but I still have hope. In the meantime, I enjoy my life at the Cat House, chlling with my special needs friends Jasper, Buttercup and Ariel!
After more than 3 years at the Cat House, my sweet and funny demeanor have made me a firm favorite of PAWS Cat House’s team!
