Our road to a safe shelter isn’t over yet.
We thought we were almost there with a new dog shelter, but, as these things usually go, it seems we seriously under-estimated how much building a new shelter would cost.
Thanks to this incredible community, we’ve already raised $8,500 towards our new shelter.
However, surprise additional works have added an extra $7,000 to our bill… and we hadn’t even managed to reach our previous fundraising goal yet.
We’ve already reduced costs wherever possible without compromising our dog’s safety. Strong foundations, proper drainage, secure roofing and weather-resistant structures are essential to protect them from Vietnam’s intense heat, heavy rain and typhoons.
Currently building work is on pause until we can raise further funds, but the rainy season is coming and we desperately need to finish construction before then. Please, if you can help us in any way, we would truly appreciate it!
Adopted & Loved
From tragedy to paradise: Coconut’s journey to Taiwan
Coconut and his siblings, Pepper and Sunset, were orphaned after their mother was tragically killed in a cat trap, placed by cat meat thieves. After months of care at our Cat House, their lives took a wonderful turn. With Pepper and Sunset already adopted, Coconut travelled all the way to Taiwan this August to join his forever mom – who is the very person who first rescued the kittens! After everything he’s been through, Coconut is finally safe and loved by his forever family. Happy tails, sweet boy!
Plato’s sweet second chance
When Plato was first brought to us, he was critically ill, abandoned on the roadside, and fighting severe anaemia from tick fever. Thanks to an emergency blood transfusion and intensive care, this brave pup pulled through.
While recovering in a foster home, Plato’s cheeky charm and adorable cross-eyes completely stole his carer’s heart! What began as a temporary stay turned into a permanent home, as his foster mum officially adopted him. We couldn’t be happier for Plato!
Making Hoi An safer for our furry friends
This August, we were thrilled to provide free sterilisation, rabies vaccinations, and microchipping for local pet owners in Hoi An thanks to the generous funding from our wonderful partners at Lady Freethinker. These essential services help local animals live healthier, safer lives while strengthening overall welfare in our community. Beyond treatments, it gave us a fantastic opportunity to chat with pet owners about responsible pet care and regular healthcare. A huge THANK YOU to Lady Freethinker and the skilled team at Paws International Clinic for helping us make a lasting difference for pets and their families!
