We wish it was as easy as booking your pet a flight, but unfortunately each country has different import requirements and for your pet. Exporting a pet from Vietnam can be time consuming, complicated and costly. Get in touch with our team of experts to make your relocation less stressful.
Country Requirements
General Travel Requirements
Each country has different requirements but, in most cases, travelling internationally requires:
- IATA Approved Crates
- Rabies Titre Blood Test (issued and signed by a registered EU approved laboratory)
- Vaccination History, Microchip and Rabies Vaccination
- Health Certificate issued by a qualified veterinary surgeon and authorized by the Vietnamese Government
- Import Permit for the Destination Country
- An export permit from the Vietnamese Government
The planning and execution can take anything from 3 to 6 months, so we recommend starting the travel process months in advance to your relocation date.
Microchipping
The microchip is permanent and can’t be separated from the pet. If your dog or cat is lost or stolen, the chip and registration are proof of ownership. However, not many veterinary clinics in central Vietnam have microchip readers.
When traveling across borders with your pet, a microchip is essential.
Veterinary Health Certificates & Necessary Testing
When relocating with your pet, it will need a health examination by your veterinarian. If your pet is healthy, a Health Certificate will be issued.
The rabies titre test is an important step in the international pet relocation process that Paws International Clinic can help with.
