We’re sharing heartwarming stories from the frontlines of our mission featuring rescued animals, incredible transformations, and updates on our ongoing projects. We’ll highlight our newest rescues, progress in foster care, and the impact of your support in making these stories possible. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
Meet Oreo
January has been an incredibly busy month for our team, particularly at our Cat House, as we’ve welcomed so many new rescues into the Paws family. Our team rescued little Oreo from the roadside after receiving a report of a leg injury. Our vet diagnosed her with a femoral head fracture, but we are currently managing her condition conservatively as she is still so young. Sadly, Oreo’s journey is even tougher than we initially thought, as she has also been diagnosed with FPV. This terrible virus is life-threatening for kittens, and the medical costs are very high, so we truly need your support to help her through this.
Howdy, Cowboy!
This tiny kitten was heartlessly dumped in a trash bin alongside his siblings. While his siblings are doing well, Cowboy has a weak hind leg and showed signs of a previous tail injury. Because he’s still too young, surgery isn’t an option yet. With his current leg condition, we need to wait and monitor his recovery before deciding on the next steps. Cowboy’s foster family is giving him all the patience and gentle care he needs during this uncertain time.
Yin & Yang of Rescues
We also welcomed a cat family consisting of Mama Cinder and her two babies, Yin and Yang. They were recently rescued as part of our TNVR (trap-neuter-vaccinate-release) program; however, we didn’t quite have the heart to release this friendly trio back to the dangerous streets they came from. Mama Cinder is a total sweetheart who loves gentle head rubs and chatting with soft meows, while her little ones are just beginning to show their unique personalities. Sister Yin is a sensitive soul who needs a patient home to feel safe, while brother Yang is a bundle of energy who loves to chase toys. These three are now healthy and ready to find their forever families.
Sailor Finds Calm Seas
We are over the moon to share that Sailor has officially been adopted! Sailor and his siblings had an incredibly rough start after falling from a roof when they were just two weeks old. As the very last member of his litter to find a home, Sailor’s adoption means that every single one of these siblings—Ted, Scout, Speck, and Salem—has now found their happy endings. Our team is so happy to see how far they have come. While we will certainly miss Sailor’s sweet nature at the shelter, we couldn’t be happier that he is finally starting his new life in his forever home.

Our hearts are absolutely full because two of our beautiful “Christmas puppies” have found their forever sofas! Aiko (formerly Nutmeg) and Tiger (formerly Cocoa) have officially started their new chapters, trading foster life for endless family snuggles. It truly was a case of love at first sight for both boys! They were part of a litter in Hoi An that sadly faced the heartbreak of being dumped twice before they finally reached the safety of our care. A huge thank you to their new Pawsome families for opening your hearts and homes to these resilient pups!
Sushi has also started her new life after being adopted recently. She was part of a litter of kittens dumped in front of our clinic, sadly all testing positive for FPV. Thanks to a dedicated foster home, Sushi and her siblings all managed to pull through. Now that she has been adopted, her sister, Ramen, is the only one left from the group still waiting at the Cat House for a forever home.
We hope Ramen’s second chance is just around the corner. Every time a rescue is adopted, it doesn’t just change one life—it opens up a space in our care for another animal in desperate need.

A Journey of Hope
Do you remember our brave Layla, who was dragging her injured body along the road? After that tragic accident, which left her paralyzed, and months of treatment and care, she blossomed into the sweetest lady. However, her journey isn’t over yet. As Layla has grown, her paralyzed hind legs have become fused straight, causing pressure on her spine and making it impossible for her to use a wheelchair.
Our team has consulted with an orthopedic specialist, and we now know the kindest path forward is to amputate her legs to relieve her pain. The cost of surgery, hospital aftercare, and her new custom wheelchair is a significant burden, and we truly cannot do this without support. Our team needs to raise funds so Layla can live a happy life, free from pain. Will you help us get there?
